Abstract

This paper reports the activities by amateur members. We tried to realize the human-powered flight (HPF) by super small power of a female and succeeded in achieving the first approved of Federation Aeronautic International (FAI) Class I-C Human-powered aircraft (HPA), Feminine, in Japan. This paper includes the process of historical growth of the group in relation to the Japan International Birdman Rally(JIBR). The detail of the design, manufacturing process of the aircraft, the special training of her muscle and the new exercising programs to improve the maneuvering skills will be discussed in detail. It was proved that even amateur group can complete those aircraft which can successfully fly if we control the balance of our work schedule, although various kinds of restrictions, small work space and short period exist. Finally it describes the next dream to which we are starting to challenge.
