We,Team Active Gals, was established at 1989. The main purpose of our team was to achieve a female to fly by human powered aircraft.
And we had made a few glider and one human powered aircraft(HPA) before CHicK-2000. Our former HPA "KoToNo Limited" set the first FAI I-C record for females 1992.

4 and 5 November 2000, The Active Gals and The Team Windnauts challenged for FAI I-C, which two teams were cooperated each other to make two female pilots fly in the same days and at the same runway, had never done before. The result of Windnauts will be reported at another opportunity in detail.
Both of these days, it was fine when she flied. But it was very foggy on preparation of the flight. Because of the fog, many tiny drops of water put on the surface of the airfoil and these drops decrease the efficiency of the airfoil. This meant she needed more power to fly than we designed. Finally she recorded 331.238 m distance flying, 46.45 sec long and 2.4m high.

At the second day, we tried to remove these drops, but it was too heavy fog to remove every drops. And record was 269.815 m distance flying, 37.66 sec long and 1.4m high.
To our regret, we couldn't satisfy the requirement of FAI I-C. FAI requires us to proof 2.0 meter high obviously. Last time, we put the rope between poles which was 2 meter high and took the photo of the HPA flying above the rope. But unfortunately at this time, the airplane couldn't pass above the rope. It means that we couldn't proof 2.0 meter high.

According to the report from the official observer, it flied higher than 2 meter high but we couldn't have any proofs.
But it was the third case that human flies by a stressed skin wing HPA. And it was the first case for a woman.
